Hallows Eve Drops are BS

So of course everyone knows that Hallows Eve is upon us in WoW. I have run the Headless Horseman 18 times now (3 days x 6 lvl 90s) and have not got the Horseman's Reins drop yet. Now normally I would just go meh and carry on. HOWEVER when I ran it the first time the other 4 members of my group got it. Yep 4/5 people in the group got the mount an I was not one of them. Then the very next day 3/5 people again an again not me. This is bullshit Blizzard. I want my mount!!

When did Ordos get hard....

That is the question I pose to people today......

Last night I did and entire World Boss run, started at Galleon, then Sha, Oon, Nalak. Then once the group disbanded I went to get my Ordos kill for this week. He was HARD again. Not since I finally got my cloak has he been hard. Our group wiped twice, which has never happened. I am not sure Blizzard did a good enough squish on him.

Also let's talk about the stat squish a bit more.

I was talking with a co-worker (he plays horde *spit*) and we have both found the Timeless Isle (besides Ordos) got easier. Killing the snakes I used to get hit pretty hard from the 'Huge Fang' but now it barely touches me. I take down elite birds in two shots, and most elite Yaungol's in 3 or less. While yes this will make grinding to Exalted with Shao-Hao easier. It seems like it's not even worth the try now.

The weekend is upon us.....

Well another weekend is upon us and well it is Hallow's Eve in Azeroth starting tomorrow. I have all the achievements for this event done as of last year, however they have added a TON of new stuff for this year. So I will be doing mostly Hallow's Eve stuff, mount farming etc. But what I am REALLY looking forward to finding in the new stuff is the Lich King Costume. Yes they have added a wand that will turn you into Arthas. As soon as I get this I will be Arthas until I can't be anymore. Even though I am a hunter.

That's it for today, reminder there is no blog updates on the weekend and I will post all of this weekends WoW happenings on Monday.

6.02 and other things that have happened......

So 6.02 is live, and like most of you, I bet it took less than an hour to finish the new quest line.

That really is my only beef with the 6.02 patch. They hyped up the new blasted lands stuff too much for what we got. Lets take a look at the major changes and I will spread some light on what I think.

Toy Box!

I love this. It freed up about have of my bank. Once I went through all my toons (I have 6 90's including Karlsson) I discovered I had about 30 toys in all. So I got the 25 Toy achievement (which I will link below).

Pre-made Groups

This is another feature I REALLY love. Finding raid groups to run Normal or Heroic SoO is A LOT easier than spamming Trade Chat or going to OpenRaid.us . It took me a bit over 20mins to find a Normal SoO raid group that had a Thok or later lockout to make running to Garry quick and easy. I plan on using this feature to run through BWL to finish my Pally transmog hopefully this weekend.

Reagent Bank

Another bag space saving feature (and who doesn't like saving bag space). The best part of this is the ability to craft out of this tab. No longer do you have to make sure your mats are in your bag for creating you precious items be it armour, weapons, bandages, cogs, etc.... The "Deposit All Reagents" button is a nice quick way to get them out of you bags quickly. Also when you do this for the first time, it WILL pull reagents out of you main bank tab into the reagents one.

Garry Heirloom Buff

I love getting items on a 100% drop, and the Garry Loom buff is the best way to get it. Now this does change the way his Heirlooms drop. Before the patch a loom 100% dropped, but 1 person int he raid got it and it was always something they could use. This buff (which is on till WoD goes live) is 100% drop for EVERYONE in the raid, but the loom is specifically for your Spec. Last night I got a Normal Garry kill (finally) and got Hellscream's Bow. I will be trying on the other toons as well to get that normal Garry kill to get more looms. Also the 100% drop rate is only for the FIRST time. After that looms will drop but you might not get one.

So aside from the update character models (which are long over due), and the temp lvl 90 UBRS, thats pretty much it for the patch.

Canadian Thanksgiving + 4 Days till 6.0 = Grind a lot of VP and JP

Hello and good afternoon folks,

As you can see there was NO updates this weekend and yesterday as it was Thanksgiving Weekend up here in the Great White North (it did not snow though). So like a lot of Americans in November we did turkey, beer and football. But in the break from those, I of course WoW'd.

6.02 went live today so in anticipation of that I spent my weekend in WoW grinding VP and JP for the gold conversion today and got all of the Heirlooms from the JP vendor I was missing and then maxed it up again. I also did an insane amount of Archaeology while in the queues.

I unfortunately wasn't able to finish CM Mode Dungeons or Normal Garry, so no transmog set or Garry mount for me *sadface*

Did get a BUNCH of Archaeology achievements, as well as a couple others this weekend also.

25,000 Valor Points (now a Legacy Achievement)
Temple of Kotmogu All-Star
The Boy Who Would be King
Collector: Mogu Coins
Collector: Ancient Sap Feeders
Collector: Iron Amulets
Collector: Banners Of The Mantid Empire
Diggerest

Mount-Du-Jour: Turbo-Charged Flying Machine

Ahh the Turbo-Charged Flying Machine. Oh How I love the....except the fact that I cannot use you on this toon cause I am and Alchemist and NOT an Engineer.

Mount: Turbo-Charged Flying Machine
Type: Flying
Location: Learn to make this as part of your engineering training

IT'S ALIVE!!!! 6.02 is LIVE in North America

Thursday: I did nothing.....no seriously I didn't even log in....but I still have blog

So yes, I didn't even log into WoW last night. I had an after work function in which I bowled terribly but got excellently drunk.

So now your saying, well why even have a blog post today besides the Mount-Du-Jour. Well that answer is simple. Blizzard officially announced 6.0.2 Pre-Patch Day!!!!

YAY!! So I am very excited for this, mind you most of knew it would be this day. I am not even sure why Blizzard tries to surprise us anymore lol.

What do we have to look forward to on pre-patch day? Well that answer is A LOT. Let's take a looky-loo.

First off the Blasted Lands for lack of a better term have been Blasted by the Iron Horde. The Dark Portal is now a lovely shade of red and no longer green-ish. But as we all know Red is BAD.

The zone is now phased for lvl 90 (yes phased like Theramore) and the Iron Horde is EVERYWHERE, Nethergarde and Okril'lon have fallen (what about Surwich?) and it is up to us to stop them before they run amok.

There are several quest hubs and you'll be doing a lot of killing. Let's not getting into that. This is a preview post, not a guide.

Also available for a limited time is the newly revamped Upper BlackRock Spire. Blizzard has made a lvl 90 version of the upcoming lvl 100 version of this dungeon. Make your way through and reep the the rewards that are granted to you. The dungeon it self will be dropping ilvl 550 Blue items, to help gear up those boosted characters.

Also being implemented on Tuesday is the new character models (Dwarves have some badass beards coming), the Toy Box, some other UI improvements and last but not least the STAT SQUISH!

Having played the Beta for WoD I can safely say, I LOVE THE STAT SQUISH. I think this will be great for the game, and help maybe bring some people back into the WoW fold.

-Karlsson

PS: No weekend posts as it is a long weekend up here in Canada

Mount-Du-Jour: Winterspring Frostsaber/Venomhide Ravasaur

The Winterspring Frostsaber is a TIME consuming mount to get. It starts with a quest on top of a plateau in the WinterSpring zone, and then is a series of dailies you need to do for the better part of a month. There is a Horde version of this as well in Un'Goro Crater that gives you Venomhide Ravasaur. Like yesterdays mounts, once you complete one of these on one faction, you automatically have the other factions version when you play that faction.

Mount: Winterspring Frostsaber
Type: Ground
Location: Rivern Frostwing <Wintersaber Trainer> Winterspring

Mount: Venomhide Ravasaur
Type: Ground
Location: Mor'vek <Ravasaur Trainer. Un'Goro Crater

Wednesday, Killin stuff and Netherwing grind.....

So another just uneventful night. Trying hard to get into Challenge Mode Dungeons and a Normal Garry.....people are just dicks sometimes and refuse to take people based on there class because of their history with terrible people who can't play the class. I really dislike that term "huntards"

Anyways, on to my night. First I decided I should fly over to Domination Point and kill the last 2 Elite rares I needed. I did of course and got I'm In Your Base, Killin Your Dudes. This is an extremely easy achievement to get when you have a high ilvl and the cloak. I was also nice and helped a guy kill the Warlord inside the base so he could continue the quest for his cloak. I'm such a nice person.

So then I just pretty much continued the Netherwing Rep grind in Shadowmoon Valley, and did my Darkmoon Faire dailies.

Also for those that are looking to get Challenge Mode Dungeons done. I have started an Event over at OpenRaid.us, you can sign up for it here. I am still looking for Heals and a Tank.

Mount-Du-Jour: Golden King/Kor'kron Annihilator

Today's Mount-Du-Jour is kinda of cheating by giving you a twofer. I put these two together because when you buy one from the Guild Vendor you automatically get the other one on the other faction. So I bought this a long time ago from the Alliance Guild Vendor in Stormwind, and when I made a Hordie, the horde version was already in my mounts pool.

Mount: Golden King/Kor'kron Annihilator
Type: Ground
Location: Guild Vendor in any Capitol City (1500g)

Tuesday Night, Ordos and some achievement clean up....

Well last night wasn't too eventful.

I made my standard Tuesday night Ordos run. He did not drop anything I needed. Well I do need gold so I guess that's something.....

So after I decided to finish off a couple achievements I start a long time ago and just never really did.

Preparing For Disaster
There's Gold In That There Fountain
The Coin Master

Now the one cool thing is with finish Preparing For Disaster I was able to get 10/10 first aid achievements done. My actual total achievement points in WoW right now is 10230.

Only other item of note was I started to finish working on my Netherwing Rep, and continued with my Darkmoon Faire Rep. My guess is after this Darkmoon Faire ends, I will need 2 more full weeks of Darkmoon Faire to reach Exalted. I am hoping to be Revered with Netherwing by the end of this week. At which point it will be put on hold again until I am done the 6.0 Pre-Patch stuff before the WoD release.

Mount-Du-Jour: Red Shado-Pan Riding Tiger

Mount-Du-Jour: Red Shado-Pan Riding Tiger

Oh what a really nice looking mount. It is just clean and simple. Also it looks like BattleCat from He-man......what...you never noticed?

Mount: Red Shado-Pan Riding Tiger
Type: Ground
Location: Rushi The Fox <Shado-Pan Quartermaster> (Shado-Pan Garrison, Townlong Steppes)

and see what I mean about him looking like Battlecat

Monday night........Brawler's Guild anyone? how about some PvP?

Brawlers Guild

So back when the Brawler's Guild started I was a lowly lvl 90 ilvl 476 Hunter, and I got SMOKED!!! I tried the first couple bosses a couple times and died too much for my liking. Plus it was costing a ton in repairs. So I gave up. So yeah.....then last night I decided, well I am ilvl 558 now, I wonder how much of a difference that will make. Well a difference it DID make....AND HOW. I was cutting through bosses like butter, and was able to got Rank 1-8 in under an hour.

What did I take from my Brawler Guild experience last night, well lets delve into that a bit.

1) If you really want a challenge you should be around ilvl 510-ish. If you want it to be easy 550+ makes the bosses fall like butter.

2) Pay attention to the boss mechanic's. I did die twice because I didn't look at the chat Window when Bizmo (Alliance side) tells you what you need to do to beat the boss. Bizmo can really help you in this manner. so Pay attention

3) If you're a Survival Hunter, your pets growl is useless. You will do too much dmg and pull the aggro from you pet, so be prepared to run, A LOT.

4) Once you hit Rank 8, it get HARD AS HELL (no matter your ilvl). I am still stuck here cause the first boss in Rank 8 is brutal.

So there you have it. I got a few more achievements from the Brawlers Guild, along with the title "Brawler" once I reached Rank 8. It's gonna be a bit hard to get that Rank 10 mount when the Brawler Guild season will be over in about a week or so. I will have to start Brawler's again once I hit 100 and with that I've seen the gear at in the WoD Beta gonna need an ilvl of at least 650-660+

Brawler's Achievements:

The Second Rule Of Brawler's Guild
I'm Your Number One Fan
Brawlin' and Shot Callin'

PvP

So I am not much of a PvP person. If I do PvP it's just Battlegrounds, and lately just Temple Of Kotmogu. I like this Battleground for two reasons. 1) It's small and you can get A LOT of kills. 2) Alliance actually usually wins this one.

The only reason I am really doing this Battleground is because I am just trying to get the PvP mounts from the Vendor in Stormwind. I already have the Black War Steed. I just need the other ones as well.

PvP Achievements

500 Honorable Kills

Mount-Du-Jour: Iron Skyreaver

Today's mount is the VERY awesome looking Iron Skyreaver. I love this mount. Not only does it look BADASS! It has some awesome animations.

Mount: Iron Skyreaver
Type: Ground/Flying
Location: Blizzard Store (US$25)

Flu means........Archaeology achievement grind

Well if you've seen my twitter feed you know I have been dealing with a the flu for a few days. So I didn't get too crazy in WoW over the weekend. I ran one Flex 4 very smoothly with a bunch of people ilvl 550+ so the bosses went down like butter. But other than that my body and mind didn't have the stamina to run more. So I just decided to get some archaeology achievements.

Here are the achievements I acquired over the weekend (also on thurs/fri when I was home with the flu from work:

Archaeology:
Collector: Pollen Collector
Collector: Kypari Sap Containers
Collector: Inert Sound Beacons
Collector: Praying Mantids
Collector: Remains of Paragons
Collector: Carved Bronze Mirrors

Siege Of Orgrimmar (Flex 4):
Strike!

Brewfest:
Brew of The Year

General:
Twenty-Five Tabards
Heroic: The Stonecore (I solo'd this)
Wildhammer Tour Of Duty
Ready For Raiding
Stocking Up

In general I am feeling much better. Not much to do tonight with it being Monday. I'll just probably do some more Archaeology. This will keep me busy till the reset tomorrow, being that my guess is that we are a week away from 6.0 Pre-Patch.

Mount-Du-Jour! - Darkmoon Dancing Bear

In celebration of the Darkmoon Faire this week todays Mount-Du-Jour is the Darkmoon Dancing Bear. For those that don't have this, it's not a hard mount to acquire. All you need is 180 Darkmoon Faire tickets and the faire to be active.

Name: Darkmoon Dancing Bear
Type: Epic
Location: Lhara <Pets and Mounts Vendor> Darkmoon Faire Grounds

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Won't get too preachy, but since I fully support this cause due to having breast cancer in my real life family. As a show of support for this excellent cause we our guild has decided to changed our tabard colour to Pink. You can do the same. It's not a big change but every little bit will help.

Mount-Du-Jour - Red Drake

Here we are for our Mount- Du-Jour!! Today's mount is one I acquired last night after getting Exalted with the Wyrmrest Accord.

Red Drake
Type: Epic
Location: Wyrmrest Accord Quatermaster (DragonBlight - Northrend)
Achievement: Wyrmrest Accord

The Rep Grind Continues.......

More Rep grind was done last night, BUT I got 3 more Exalted's, 5 Achievements, 3 Tabards and 1 Mount out of it.

We'll take care of the new mount in today's Mount-Du-Jour post later. Lets move on to the other stuff.

Exalted's and Tabards:

-Knights Of The Ebon Blade
-Wyrmrest Accord
-Kirin Tor

Achievements:

-Knights Of The Ebon Blade
-The Wrymrest Accord
-Kirin Tor
-Northrend Vanguard
-Argent Aspiration

The Exalted's for the Northrend Vanguard are super easy right now if you have extra Justice Points sitting around. I was able to do Knights, Kirin and Wyrmrest within 15mins by buying the Commendation Badges from the Legacy Justice Points vendor in Dalaran. They are 16jp each and give 520rep normally or 624 rep (which is what I got) with guild perks. You can also get commandation badges for Sons of Hodir and Argent Crusade from that vendor.
